For their engagement shoot Karina and Ivan travelled all the way from Hong Kong to Durham, the city where they first met while studying in 2010. Fortunately we were experiencing some of the warmest December weather in living memory - it was a balmy 16C in Durham (although Karina was still feeling a bit chilly!)
Karina had hired a beautiful wedding gown for the shoot, and the wonderful Kristina of KF Makeup for hair and makeup, and booked me for the day so we had plenty of time to visit some of their favourite places in the city.
We started on the lovely cobbled streets around the cathedral and made our way back into the busy town centre, where the Christmas shoppers (and Kristina!) provided plenty of movement for some nice long exposure shots (awesome "standing very still" skills from Karina and Ivan).
We then headed back to the hotel for an outfit change before visiting the train station, then we headed down to the riverside and finally back into town for some shots on the bridge with the cathedral in the background.
We covered a fair bit of ground that day and as a result got a good variety of images from some very different locations, hopefully these will serve as a nice reminder for Karina and Ivan of the beautiful city where they met. Good luck for your wedding in 2016 guys!
